Our People

When it comes to being a leader in 3D laser scanning, having the right technology is only half the story.

Through solid leadership and by attracting the most qualified geomatics engineers and technicians in the field today, Point Geomatics' team has the knowledge and understanding to get the most from the technology and deliver the results engineers and other professionals have come to rely on.

A solid foundation in conventional surveying means our team has the skills to help clients achieve exceptional results. When circumstances require, we bring in additional specialists to round out our team.

Chris Tucker — CEO

Chris Tucker CEOEarly in his career, Chris Tucker, P. Eng., worked as the project manager on a 1,300 kilometre pipeline in west Africa conducting topographical surveys on fixed facilities locations.

Following that, Chris was a project manager conducting airborne laser surveys over Kicking Horse Canyon in Canada's Rocky Mountains, and has worked on several oil field and gas plant operations.

After working with terrestrial laser scanning data over a number of years, Chris started Point Geomatics Ltd. in 2004.

He recognized that laser scanning was underutilized in terrestrial surveying, yet offered huge potential for efficiencies with respect to cost savings, safety and accuracy of data. In addition, laser scanning can be used for a wide variety of applications in engineering and other disciplines.

His vision for Point Geomatics is to be the premier supplier of terrestrial remote sensing products. With a strong foothold in western Canada, Point Geomatics has recently taken its services to South America and is seeking other opportunities worldwide.
